A new poll finds Charles now leads his son William and the people's choices to succeed Queen Elisabeth on the throne. That's brand new. William was the top pick in the last poll and had been for a while. It's a big deal and a loud celebration for the prince of Wales as we go around the world in eighty seconds.

United Kingdom: two artillery gun salutes honoring Prince Charles on his 60th birthday. A 41 gun saluted in London's Hyde Park by the king's troop royal horse artillery. Later, the honorable artillery company gave the prince a 62 gun salute at the tower of London. Prince Charles wasn't there for either, he was attending a launch of a new project by his charity, the Prince's Trust.
