Getting your kids in shape

Denise Brodey of Fitness magazine shows fun and easy workout toys that will make your children enjoy exercising.

This morning on today's fitness exercise toys for children. The number of overweight children in this nation is on the rise more than doubling since 1980s.

New, now toy makers are creating new ways to get kids off the couch and moving in fitness magazine editor in chief, Denise Broody is here with the top 10 toys that the magazine has chosen and some active kids are also here this morning to help us take a look some of these.

a: Hi, Denise, how are you?
b: Hi, I am good to get be here.
a: How did you pick these, or how did you raise them?
b: Well, what we did is we want to try and find toys that are safe, that are smart toys, that get kids going, and that they are fun to the whole family, so that you can emphasize, kids and mum can do the things together as well as dad?

a: There is no question we wanna get them more active, we've got Gerald here to try on this new kids treadmill that you’re thinking about now what makes you like this treadmill?

b: This is a great treadmill, because it's sorta for me too, it’s made by kids first, it's about 100 dollars. And you put it right next to yours and you can exercise at the same time. And keep in (and it’s a Dockwatch), yeah, so you can see how he can really run out of some energy there. Calories are really important and it's safe, because it starts and stops when he starts and stops, (Ok), so that's very different than an adult treadmill which can be dangerous for the little guys .

a: Great job(you did great job), great job(good job). (You take a rest.) (Ok, Well, while you take a rest, let's look at Michael, cause he’s on , I mean, at the stationary bike, can you what? hooked up to your television? Yeah, it just has three parts go straight in the back, and this is what I call it's ….by a special price and I call it an learning expenditure.(Oh,hey, you know what I think that is not.), this is popular, (Go to push the button I don't think it gonna work. Ok, thank you, dear. Now it is a way to get exercise.) You get some competition. (But, no, it’s not a good way to get exercise.) We knew this is going to be popular, right? So this is why feature place is about the same, uh, price. So, and it got what you do it, it's got OK for learning, so that when you pedal, you drive it through this, you wanna to pedal, pedal, pedal ..., and secondary power and you can keep going, and this is for about age 3 to 6, so you can see he’s just figuring it out, older kids will get it right way.
a: So it's interactive which might encourage then, maybe.

b: Yeah, and you've got these little patches thinking by other the patches then goes ...

a: Ok, Gerald? The end of this, Ok, my god, good job, we are working out. Ok, thank you a lot? Oh now, M. we've get somebody on a balance, and this is Hanna, and she is on… Hi, Hanna, how are you? (She’s on a vaulted board called the monkey board.)

b: And this made by a pay, and it made by an average toy which is 25dollars, the great thing is about this is a great skills training, she is really working in her balance, and she’s gonna learn when she goes out the skate board or snow board, she’s gonna have no problem, because it's, you know it’s just tippy, you are doing great? Right? It’s fun, right.

a: And actually, Hanna likes to do gymnastics, you like do gymnastics, so this is good for that.

b: You know, there is a big tendency as in general of adult, because it works your cord and it really gives your body strength and over here there is a jump rope as well as she is timing and choosing we chose to time with the jump rope which in the ten for the jumper, being just a kid.

a: Go ahead Victoria, go ahead to do some jumping, so that’s a little bit long for her, but what happen did you think it actually toll read through the title for her, So the bottom line (it’s a big.) It is actually count the number of the jumping jump?

b: Ok, so wait on the handle, you can count, and then, you know, this is a little bit long for her. But basically, what you wanna do is, hi, Gerald, wanna come over here for a second, come over here. I feel like I met pretty girl. Anyway, it count the turn, so you can really get a feel ---

a: Ok, all right, thanks a lot ,Victoria, and this is really quickly, Mike over here is Ogemmy over here's on another a bicycle called a like-bike, you like that one and then also there is the ball, it's just basically good ball, a great way to go, right ?

b: Yeah, it's just 5 to 11 dollars, really easy to catch, like have a basketball .

a: All right, listen. We have more to get you, we are about run out of the time, but it's needful. Thanks so much. You’re kinda trying to help our children to get in better shape; we'll do everything we can. All right!
