陆明可谓是祸不单行，事情都乱套了，作业没写完，房租没交上，身份证不见了，电单车又被偷了，正在发愁了。这时候，Alice来问陆明文几个中文成语，看到陆明把整个房间翻得乱七八糟，就说：“What are you cooking?”获悉详情后，看到陆明一直耷拉着个脸，就说：“Just chill out. ”Alice的措辞极为精彩，弄得陆明脑袋是一波刚平，一波又来。那么Alice说的2句话到底是什么意思呢？我们就带着这2个疑惑一起走近Alice和陆明的谈话中来。
Alice : What are you cooking，Lumming?
What are you cooking?
Luming : Nothing. It's a little earlier for me to cook myself for supper.

Alice : Well, I don't ask you to enjoy the cool. "Chill out" means "to relax, calm down or take it easy".
哎...... 我不是叫你去外面乘凉。“Chill out”是“放松，从容不迫，冷静，不烦躁”的意思。

1. What are you cooking?
解析： 这句话在美国现在很盛行，用来打招呼。就像我们常说的“喂，干什么了？”说得更地道点就是“嘿，你在搞什么把戏。”这个翻译很形象，我们在烹饪的时候，有盐，味精，酱油，各种各样的菜，我们将其精心调制配制，就可作出美味的一道菜，就好像是在“玩把戏”。
2. Chill out!
解析：Chill out!在不同的语境下有不同的意思。我们很累了，这时候我们就要放松一下，可用之。还有我们大家都有这样的经理，在参加重大赛事上场前会紧张不安。当今生活、学习、工作压力都很大，就会担心某件事做不好事，我们就可以用Chill out”用相互劝不要紧张，不要担心。
下面我将听到的2个例句，它在其中就是“放松”的意思。
1. I like to come home from work, have dinner, chill out for a little bit, and then go to bed.
下班后我喜欢回家吃晚餐，放松休息一下，然后上床睡觉。
