知识和力量
Knowledge and power are two things most desired by man.
知识和力量是人类最期望得到的两样东西，
There is a close connection between these two things.
它们之间有密切的联系。
The man who acquires the most knowledge
努力获得知识的人
will easily get a high position and perform it successfully.
能很容易谋得高职位并干得出色。
Power depends on knowledge.
力量依靠知识。
Knowledge is to power as a compass is to a ship
知识对力量来说正像指南针对轮船，
it allows a man to sail safely across an unknown ocean.
只有通过它，轮船才会安全地驶过一片求知的海洋。
A great statesman or a learned scholar
一个伟大的政治家或一个知名的学者
can render his good services to his country
能够成功地为国效劳，
because he has perfect and profound knowledge.
正是因为他具有完善而渊博的知识。
Power only follows knowledge.
力量只能伴随知识而来。
A man cannot do anything well unless he has some information as to how do it well.
一个人不能把事情办好，除非具备如何把事情做好的知识。
A man will sometimes lose his way in a strange land;
一个人有时会在一个陌生的地方迷路；
an apprentice cannot produce any delicate work.
一个学徒无法生产出精美的产品。
Why is this so?
为什么会这样呢？
Because the lost man and the apprentice are in want of knowledge.
因为他们缺少知识。
If the wanderer wishes to find his way out,
如果这位迷路人要找到出路。
he must know where his destination is;
他必须知道他的目的地在哪里；
if the apprentice wishes to produce good work,
如果这位学徒要生产出精美的产品，
he must pay attention to his instructor' advice.

We are all the future masters of our country.

Our country needs our services.

How can we fulfill our future tasks?
我们怎样完成未来的任务呢？
To get more knowledge is the only answer.
