On Friday, Defense Secretary Ash Carter said that U.S. forces killed a senior ISIS leader, who was among several key members of the militant group eliminated this week.

Carter identified the senior ISIS leader as Haji Imam, describing him as the terrorist group's finance minister.

The Defense Secretary told a Pentagon news conference, "Leaders can be replaced. However, these leaders have been around for a long time. They are senior, they are experienced."
