After tornadoes moved through Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, the severe weather moved east on Friday through Georgia and the Carolinas.
According to the National Weather Serivce, tornadoes and isolated winds are possible through mid-afternoon Friday.
By Friday morning close to 3,000 people in the Carolinas were without power.
Severe storms hit central Georgia, flooding some streets and damaging roofs.
About two dozen homes have been evacuated in the Mississippi Delta due to widespread flooding in the area as well.
