Today's key word is Passion.

Passion 激情,热情

Passion is a very strong feeling about something or a strong belief in something.

Here's an example:
He had a passion for music.
他酷爱音乐。

Now, let’s learn the word in the news.
In today’s news, a couple apparently showed their passion in their love realtionship.
Recently, a photo of a young couple having a passionate kiss on a subway in Liaoning province of Northeast China has gone viral and invited a flood of criticism for the couple's behavior.
Some people say that it’s a private thing; we don’t need to put so much attention on it.
Others argue that it is a public place, it is not appropriate. Well, there are different kinds of passion exist.

Let's talk about another passion that is much more complicated than a kiss. Hope it can inspire you a little.
Here is something said by Professor Randy Pausch.
He was an American professor of computer science.
In August 2007, Pausch was given a terminal diagnosis(最终诊断):"3 to 6 months of good health left". He then gave a lecture titled "The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams".

(Prof. Pausch)It is not the things we do in life that we regret….(on a death bed) It is the things we do not. Cause I assure you I’ve done a lot of really stupid things. And none of them bother me - all the mistakes and all the dopy(愚蠢的) things and all the time I was embarrassed. They don’t matter. We don’t beat the reaper(死神) by living longer. We beat the reaper by living well and living fully.

After inspiring millions of people from all around the world, Prof. Pausch died on July 25, 2008.

As a child, my parents always told me you can be whatever you want to be, you can do whatever you want to do. But I didn't totally believe it.
Yet when I went out into the world and I carried myself and I held my head high and I stood there and I looked people in their eyes and I talked to people as if I was deserving of everything that this planet has to offer.
He who says he can and he who says he can't are both usually right. And I want you keep in you heart just know that you can. I want to the world to be better, because I was here.
