North Korea leader Kim Jong Un said that his country has "the sure capability to attack" U.S. interests in the Pacific Ocean.
This statement comes after UN supervised a test launch of a "medium long-range strategic ballistic missile" on Wednesday.
The test-fire was successful but did not impact the security of any neighboring countries.
South Korea and the U.S. condemned the test as a direct violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The Japanese Defense Ministry also stated that the missile launch was a threat to its safety.
According to South Korean officials, North Korea is believed to have up to 30 Musudan missiles in their possession.
