Cuba’s ex-president Fidel Castro responded brusquely to the speech given by Barack Obama during his visit to the communist-run island. Writing in the state-run Granma newspaper, the 89-year-old revolutionary leader rebuffed the American president’s suggestion that the 54-year-old trade embargo be lifted, putting the cold war in the Americas to rest.
