"They start school at seven twenty-five," David Levin says of the students at the Bronx KIPP academy.

Levin was standing in the school's main hallway. It was lunch time and the students were trooping by quietly in orderly lines, all of them in their KIPP Academy shirts.

By summer, Levin was referring to the fact that KIPP students do three extra weeks of school, in July.
