To grasp at straws means to be so desperate that you try anything to help yourself in a difficult situation.
抓住救命稻草 意思是你太绝望了 就尝试所有可能有用的方法而当时的环境非常的艰难。
Some word experts say it comes from a saying, “A drowning man will catch at a straw...”
一些词语专家称 这个词组来自一句谚语，“人快要淹死时，稻草也要抓。。。”
Straw floats but it is not strong enough to hold someone above water.
稻草虽然能漂起来但是它的力量还不够支撑起一个人漂浮在水面上。
