Well, today's topic is parallelism, so I thought it would be nice to start off with that.
因为今天的主题是排比，所以我想它会是个好引子。
Parallelism is the repetition of similar grammatical forms.
排比是类似语法形式的重复。
It is a powerful tool in public speaking.
它是公众演讲的有力工具。
Parallelism is found in many famous sayings.
许多著名的语录中都有排比。
Julius Caesar is often credited with this one:
凯撒大帝有句名言：
I came. I saw. I conquered.
我来了。我看到了。我征服了。
The parallel structure makes an idea clear and easy to remember.
排比结构使思路清晰，易于记忆。
It also shows that each repeated structure is of equal importance.
它还表明，每个重复结构都同等重要。
"You can fool all the people some of the time,
你可以在某些时候愚弄所有的人，
and some of the people all of the time,
你也可以一直愚弄某些人，
but you cannot fool all the people all the time."
但你不能一直愚弄所有的人。

but one common type of parallelism is called antithesis.

Antithesis simply means the opposite of something.

"It was the best of times, It was the worst of times..."

But while making constrasts is useful in parallelism,
但排比中的对比很有用，
you just have to be careful not to mix grammatical structures,
你只需要注意不要混淆语法结构就可以了，
because that would be known as False Parallelism.
