There are six main types of loneliness.
孤独有六种主要类型。
1. Interpersonal loneliness.
1. 人际孤独。
This is the result of losing a significant or intimate relationship.
产生人际孤独的原因是由于失去了一段重要的或亲密的关系。
2. Social loneliness.
2. 社交孤独。
This is experienced when a person is on the fringes of a group, excluded from a group, or is actively rejected.
当一个人处于团体边缘、被排除群体之外或是被拒绝时，会体验到这种孤独感。
3. Cultural loneliness.
3. 文化孤独。
A person who belongs to a different culture and feels like they don't fit
一个属于不同文化的人会觉得自己在一种新的文化中格格不入，
or belong in the new culture experiences culture loneliness
这时，文化孤独感油然而生。
4. Intellectual loneliness.
4. 智力孤独。
This is the result of feeling intellectually or educationally out of sync with peers, family or social group.
智力孤独是由于在知识层面或教育层面和平辈、家人或社交团体步调不一致。
5. Psychological loneliness.
5. 心理孤独。
This is felt by someone who has undergone a traumatic situation that separated them from the people around them,
那些经历过亲人离别等创伤性事件的人会感受到心理上的孤独，
a situation others can't fully understand.
此类创伤性事件无法和别人感同身受。
6. Existential or cosmic loneliness.
6. 因思考人类存亡而引起的或宇观的孤独。
This is an isolating loneliness experienced by a person who is facing death.
这是一种孤立的孤独，那些面临死亡的人才会体验。
