The English language allows for the use of two -ing words in a row.
英语允许连续使用两个-ing形式的单词。
Why is that? In part because of the present participle.
为什么会这样？部分原因是现在分词。
A present participle is a word that is formed from a verb and ends in -ing.
现在分词是由动词构成的，以-ing结尾的单词。
So, one common situation is when the first -ing word is part of a continuous verb tense
所以，一种常见的情况是第一个-ing形式的单词是一个动词进行时态的一部分，
and the second -ing word is a gerund.
第二个-ing形式的词是动名词。
I've been avoiding going to the doctor.
我一直避免去看医生。
The present participle can act as a gerund, adjective or part of a verb.
现在分词可以作为动名词、形容词或动词的一部分。
When used with the verb "to be", it forms continuous tenses.
当与动词“to be”连用时，它形成进行时态。
Another situation is what we call Go +Gerund.
另一种情况是Go+Gerund。
When Go is in the continuous verb tense, you will see two -ing words together.
当Go是进行时态时，你会看到两个-ing形式的单词连在一起。
We're going swimming this weekend.
这个周末我们要去游泳。
I'm going shopping for new shoes.
我要去买新鞋。
And another common structure in which two -ing words appear together is verb + adjective.

The situation is becoming appalling.
情况变得令人震惊。
There are situations when more than two -ing words appear together,
也有两个以上的-ing形式的单词同时出现的情况，
but this often does not sound natural.
