We all have a creative genius inside of us.

Just like Howard Gardner's multiple intelligence theory, creativity is also measured in many unique ways.

This means that the creative process works differently for everyone.

1. The lateral thinker.
1. 横向思想者。
This is probably the most common type people think of when they first hear the word 'Creativity'.

Lateral thinkers think outside the box generating new ideas instead of working with what's already familiar.
横向思想者会跳出思维定势思考新想法而不是用固定思维思考。
Lateral thinking is great for problem-solving, innovations and inventions.
横向思维对于解决问题、创新和发明非常有用。
People who identify with this type are usually not afraid to leave traditions behind in order to play with new patterns.
这种类型的人通常不惧怕抛弃传统,尝试新的模式。
2. The inspirational thinker.
2. 灵感型思想者。
Do random ideas ever just come to you suddenly? This is called inspirational thinking.
你是否会突然有一些随机的想法?这被称为灵感思维。
Inspirational thinking is usually spontaneous, quick and comes out of nowhere.
灵感思维通常是无意识的、迅速的、突然出现。
Researchers call these breakthroughs higher creativity.

Often, people who come up with inspiring ideas see them in dreams first but may also experience this while being awake.

Throughout this creative process, the individual undergoes a life-changing revelation

that amplifies their skills and talents to a whole 'nother level.

3. The divergent thinker.

3. 发散性思考者。
American psychologist JP Guilford coined the terms Divergent Thinking and Convergent Thinking.
美国心理学家 JP Guilford创造了发散思维和收敛思维这两个术语。
Guilford proposed that these two types of thinking are the opposite of one another.
Guilford提出这两种思维类型彼此相对立。
Whereas convergent thinking entails concentrating on only one idea or a single solution,
收敛思维必须集中于一个想法或一个解决方案,
divergent thinking involves a more flexible approach where many solutions and options are explored.
而发散思维需要一种更加灵活地方式,探索众多解决方案和选择。
People who identify as divergent thinkers tend to brainstorm often and enjoy taking risks in order to explore other alternatives.

4. The systemic thinker.
4. 系统型思考者。

People who identify as systemic thinkers are good at understanding how things are related to one another when they look at systems.

Systemic thinking is often used in corporate settings when a hierarchy is created.

This type of thinker is often considered a managerial genius

because they're great at organizing and setting rules and regulations for operations to run smoothly.

5. The esthetical thinker.
5. 审美思想者。
Esthetical thinking involves producing or creating things that are pleasing to our senses.
审美思维涉及生产或创造使感官愉悦的事物。
The individual may have strong visual and spatial skills choosing to delve into careers such as architecture, painting and drawing.
他们可能有很强的视觉和空间技能,选择钻研建筑、绘画和素描等职业。
Esthetical thinkers also thrive in the music industry where they are skilled at creating rhythms,

tempos and melodies that all blend harmoniously together.

Writers, scientists and mathematicians all belong under this creative branch as well.

When they have a talent for creating unique plot lines, formulas and equations.
