This is Jayesh Kale and he's got a pretty peculiar collection.

For years, Jayesh has been growing a massive collection of various cell phones.
多年来，贾耶什一直在收集各种各样的手机。

Jayesh, how many phones exactly?

"Today, I have counted all the phones and those are 2371.
“我今天数了一下，一共是2371部。
So it's been 5 to 6 years I've started collecting this phone.
我收集手机已经有5、6年了。
I've collected cellphones from all around the world, from, you know, Europe, UK, U.S., Switzerland, Dubai, a lot of countries.
我收手机不限地方的，欧洲的，英国的，美国的，瑞士的，迪拜的，很多很多国家。
My wife is very angry on me.
为这事儿我妻子没少跟我生气。
Because I have used all her wardrobes.
因为她所有的衣柜都被我霸占了。
All my phones are in the bedroom, most of them in the cars, in cupboards, everywhere in the house."

Jayesh's obsession for these phones began with his very first Nokia 3310.
贾耶什对手机的迷恋是从他买第一部诺基亚3310开始的。
what could have been an unfortunate incident proved to him the phone's durability.
原本属于不幸的一次意外，在他眼里，反倒成了证明这款手机耐用性的明证。
"I was on the phone and a friend of mine pushed me, and my phone fell down from the second floor of the corridor in the college.
“当时我正在打电话，结果被我朋友撞了一下，我手机就从学院二楼的走廊掉下去了。
I went down running.
我赶紧跑下去捡。
I was pretty tense-- will it work, will it not?
当时我很紧张，不知道以后还能不能用。
I put back the battery, and the phone was surprisingly working.
我把电池重新装上后，手机竟然还能用。
And, that's where my love began for Nokia."
从那以后，我便爱上了诺基亚。”
These aren't just relics of a bygone era.
这些手机并非只是过往岁月的雪泥鸿爪。
Jayesh has some pretty strict criteria for adding a new phone to his collection.
在选一部手机收藏时，贾耶什有着相当严格的标准。
"So, whenever I buy cell phones, I keep a couple of things into consideration.
“每次买手机，我都会考虑几个因素。
One is it needs to be in mint condition.
其一，品相要好。
Second, it needs to be in complete working condition.
其二，功能上要没有任何问题。
Because, you know, you don't just buy them for collecting, you need to own them, you need to use them."
因为，你买它不仅仅是为了收集，你得持有吧，你还得用吧。”
"Yeah, yeah, you heard right. I'm a Nokia collector. Tell me."

"My friends and family have a mixed opinion.
“亲朋好友持各种意见的都有。
Some say this is a very crazy guy.
有觉得我疯了的。
Some feel proud.

And, some say I have put in so much of money in a dead investment.

But they really don't know the fact it's the other way around."

While Jayesh's collection has been recognized as the largest of its kind in India, he's got his eyes on a bigger prize.
尽管贾耶什的收藏在国内被认为是同类收藏中规模最大的了，但他将目光锁定在了更大的荣誉上。
"I am going to attend for the Guinness World Record.
“我想参加吉尼斯世界纪录大赛。
I am already known as a Nokia cell phone man in India,
我在印度已经有名号了，他们都叫我‘诺基亚哥们儿’，
and I think holding a Guinness Book of World Records adds a prestige to you and your personality."
但我觉得，持有一项吉尼斯世界纪录能够给你这个人，以及你的人格魅力添彩。”
For Jayesh, it's about more than just records or recognition.
对贾耶什来说，收集手机不止是为了创造纪录或博取认可。
"I take care of them a lot.
“我会很精心地打理它们。
I stare at them, I look at them, and I feel happy from inside."
光是看着它们，我都会打心眼里觉得开心。”
