This time of year is all about good wishes, but did you know that many of these good wishes are edible?
每年的这个时候都是许下美好祝愿的时候，但是你知道很多美好的愿望是可以食用的吗？
Here are eight lucky New Year foods in the Chinese tradition and why they're lucky.
以下就是中国传统的八种在春节食用的幸运食物，以及它们之所以幸运的原因。

那么我们从哪里开始呢？
1.Long life noodles.
1.长寿面
Wish everyone and yourself a long life by eating very long noodles without cutting them.
吃一条很长的面条，过程中最好不要弄断它，来祝福所有人和你自己能长命百岁。
Slurping is allowed, your longevity is at stake.
可以出声地吃，毕竟事关寿面长短。
2.Dumplings.
2.饺子
You never need an excuse to eat dumplings but now you have a reason to eat more!
你永远不需要吃饺子的理由，但过年期间，你有一个尽可能多吃的理由！
These are ingots. They used to be a form of currency in China, and they were made of gold and silver, and dumplings look like them.
这是元宝。它们曾经是中国的一种货币，是用金和银做的，而饺子的外形看起来和元宝很像。
The idea is the more you eat, the more money you'll have.
有种说法是，你吃的饺子越多，你拥有的钱就越多。
3.Spring rolls.

If you didn't get rich from all those dumplings before, that's ok.

Have some spring rolls which represent solid gold bars. Wow, 14 karats!

4.A whole fish.

Having the head and the tail of the fish symbolises a good beginning and a good ending for the coming year.

Also, the word 'fish' in Chinese sounds like the word for 'surplus'.
此外，“鱼”这个字在中文里的发音，和“余”是一样的。
