Here's how it works:

I'll give you a sentence, and you can decide if a word is missing.

Let's look at another.

Well, what do you think?

Yes! I just used two intransitive verbs: "go" and "arrive".
是的！我刚用了两个不及物动词:“去”和“到达”。
Intransitive verbs are verbs that help answer the question
不及物动词是用来回答以下几个问题的动词
"When?" "Where?" "How?" or "Why?"
“什么时候？”“哪里？”“如何？”或者“为什么？”
So, they are often followed by propositions or adverbs.
所以，它们后面经常接介词或副词。
Look at the example again.
让我们再看一下示例。
He arrives class late every day.
他每天上课都迟到。
The missing word here is "to", a preposition.
这里缺少的单词是介词“去”。
And "to class" answers the question "where?".
“去上课”回答了“去哪里？”这个问题。
Now, look closely at the other example.
现在，仔细看看另一个例子。
I am going the morning.
我早上走。
The missing word here is "in", also a preposition.
这里缺的词是“在”，也是一个介词。
And "in the morning" answers the question "when?".
“在早上”回答了“什么时候？”这个问题。
With intransitive verbs, there is no "who?" or "what?",
不及物动词构成的句子中，没有"谁"或"什么"，
no person or thing receiving the action of the verb.

Being able to identify intransitive verbs will help you form sentences better

and help you avoid speaking and writing errors.
