"Do you seriously believe that?" replied Care, in a severe tone of reproach.
“你相信这是真的吗？”忧虑女神用责备的口吻质疑道。
"No; he will be very unhappy, and will assuredly bless the moment when he feels that he has freed himself from the fatal shoes."
" 不，他会很不高兴的，当他一脱下这双套鞋时，他一定会说谢天谢地！"
"Stupid nonsense!" said the other angrily.
"你这是说的什么话？"对方生气地说，
"I will put them here by the door. Someone will make a mistake for certain and take the wrong ones -- he will be a happy man."
"我现在要把这双套鞋放在门口。谁要是错穿了它，就会变得幸福！"
Such was their conversation.
