Bob: Coco, can you give me a hand please?

Coco: Sure. What is it?

Coco: 当然啦，怎么了？

Bob: This is my pay check, but I don’t know some of the terms used here.

Bob: 这是我的工资条，但是我不认识这里面用的有些术语。

Coco: Ok. Let me have a look. You see, this pay check is divided to two parts by a line of dots. The upper half is a check and the lower is a pay stub.

Coco: 好的，让我看下。你看，这个工资条被虚线分成了两部分。上面半部分是支票，下面半部分是单存根。

Bob: But what’s the use of the pay stub?

Bob: 什么是单存根呢？

Coco: It’s a record of your pay and deductions. You can check it to make sure that your pay is correct.

Coco:它是一份有关你收入所得和扣款的记录。你可以检查一下，已确定发放你的工资是否正确。

Bob: I see. Coco, can you tell me what regular hours means?

Bob: 我知道了，coco 你能告诉我“固定时间”是什么意思？

Coco: Of course. Regular hours refer to the hours you’re required to work each week; while overtime hours refers to the extra hours you work besides regular hours.

Coco: 当然可以。固定时间事每天规定你要工作的时间，而加班时间是规定时间以外的工作的时间。

Bob: The regular pay is for regular hours, and overtime pay is the pay for extra hours. Right?

Bob: 那么固定工资就是固定时间的报酬，而加班工资是加班时间的报酬，对吧？

Coco: That’s right. And gross pay is the total pay before deductions. We also call it total earnings.

Coco: 没错，毛工资就是扣款钱的工资，我们也叫它总收入。

Bob: I guess net pay is the total pay after deductions. Is that correct?

Bob: 我想净工资就是扣款以外的工资，对吗？

Coco: Yes. And it’s also called take-home pay.

Coco: 对，我们叫他实得工资。

Bob: I see. Thanks Coco.

Bob: 我知道了谢谢coco.

Coco: Not at all. Remember to check the pay stub before the 5th of each month in case of any mistakes in your paycheck.
