The fifth edition of the world's first import-themed national-level expo has come to an end, and the numbers indicate success.

"We reached a total of 73.5 billion U.S. dollars of tentative deals for one-year purchases of goods and services at this year's CIIE, an increase of 3.9 percent over last year."

Over 400 new products, services and technologies were offered at this year's event.

Almost 100 on-site supporting activities were also held during the expo, including policy interpretation, signing and investment promotion events.

Officials say enterprises have already signed up for an exhibition area of more than 100,000 square meters for the sixth CIIE.
