助动词如何发音

Hi Faith, how are you doing today?

嗨,费思,你今天怎么样?

I'm doing well. How about you?

我很好。你呢?

Not too great. I couldn't sleep last night.

不太好。我昨晚睡不着觉。

What kept you up?

什么事让你睡不着?

A mystery--I was thinking about auxiliary verbs.

一个谜团——我在想助动词。

Auxiliary verbs keep you awake?

助动词让你睡不着觉吗?

Most people fall asleep at the mention of an auxiliary verb.

大多数人一提到助动词就睡着了。

But isn't this interesting?

但这不是很有趣吗?

We often say "I can speak English."

我们经常说“我会说英语。”

But in the negative form we often say, "I can't speak English."

但它的否定形式,我们经常说,“我不会说英语。”

I can speak English. I can speak English. I can't speak English. I can't speak English.

我会说英语。我会说英语。我不会说英语。我不会说英语。

In other words, we often say the auxiliary verb differently when it is in its positive form and its negative form. Why is that?

换句话说,我们说助动词的肯定形式和否定形式时会不一样。为什么呢?

The vowel sound is different because we want to draw the listener's attention to the fact that we are making a negative statement.

元音的发音是不同的,因为我们想让听者注意到我们在说否定的陈述句。

We often say auxiliary verbs quickly.

我们经常快速地说助动词。

By saying the auxiliary verb more loudly and with a different vowel, we can make sure the listener hears us.

通过大声地说助动词并掺杂不同的元音,我们可以确保听者听到我们说的话。

That makes sense.

很有道理。

So that's why the vowel sound in the positive form is the schwa sound.

这就是肯定形式的元音是弱读央元音的原因。

This is a vowel sound that Americans love using in everyday speech.

这是美国人在日常对话中喜欢使用的元音。

I can speak English. I can speak English.

我会说英语。我会说英语。

That's right. And notice I used the schwa in this statement: "I can teach this lesson."

没错。请注意,我在这句话中使用了弱读央元音:“我可以教这一课。”

Notice how the schwa does not appear in this statement. "I can't teach this lesson."

请注意,这句话中没有出现弱读央元音。“我不能教这一课。”

You raise some good points.

你提出了一些很好的观点。

These aren't fixed grammar rules like you might read about in a textbook.

虽然这些不是你在课本上会读到的固定的语法规则。

But we often follow these patterns in everyday speaking.

但我们在日常对话中经常会遵循这些模式。

I hope that solved your mystery, John. Try to get better sleep tonight.

我希望这解开了你的谜团,约翰。今晚尽量睡个好觉。

And that's Everyday Grammar.

以上就是今天的《每日语法》。
