Billionaire businessman Rupert Murdoch is making some news of his own: the 92-year-old is engaged to former San Francisco police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith.
The news comes just seven months after the News Corp chairman finalized his divorce from his ex, Jerry Hall.
Rupert, who has previously been married four times, tells the New York Post, "I dreaded falling in love, but I knew this would be my last," adding, "It better be. I'm happy."
And his bride-to-be tells the publication, which Rupert's company owns, "I'm a widow 14 years. Like Rupert, my husband was a businessman.
Worked for local papers, developed radio and TV stations and helped promote Univision. So, I speak Rupert's language. We share the same beliefs."
The media tycoon split from model Jerry Hall in June of 2022,
and their attorneys confirmed to the L.A. Times that their divorce was finalized two months later in August.
He has also been married to flight attendant Patricia Booker, journalist Anna Murdoch, and entrepreneur Wendi Deng.
The 92-year-old is also a father to six children.
Rupert and Ann intend to marry this summer, with Rupert telling the post, "We're both looking forward to spending the second half of our lives together."
