A widespread outage on the social media platform left thousands without access to their Twitter accounts on Saturday, as Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced new restrictions.

He tweeted, users with verified accounts are limited to reading 6,000 posts a day, unverified accounts to 600 and new unverified accounts to 300.

He also stated that these temporary limitations are in place to address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.
