The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a bill cracking down on TikTok.
周三，美国众议院通过了一项旨在压制TikTok的提案。
If it were to become law, the measure would force the app's Chinese owner to divest its U.S. assets in six months, or face a ban.
如果该提案最终成为法律，将迫使该应用的中国所有者在六个月内剥离其在美资产，否则将面临禁令。
The vote comes a little over a week since the bill was proposed.
此次投票是在该提案提出一个多星期后进行的。
Ahead of Wednesday's vote, Beijing accused Washington of bullying. And there's plenty of opposition at home, as well.

with the volume of complaints at times exceeding the number of calls seeking a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

And last month, President Joe Biden's re-election campaign joined TikTok.

But last week, Biden said he would sign the bill if it came across his desk.

The bill faces a more uncertain path in the U.S. Senate where some senators favor a different approach to regulating foreign-owned apps that could pose security concerns.
