Temperatures are expected to soar again in Europe this summer, but there will be no air conditioning in the athletes rooms at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Organizers have pledged to host the greenest Games ever, and in that spirit, buildings in the athletes village were designed to avoid the need for aircon.

So how will the athletes rooms be cooled?

The buildings have cooling systems that draw water from underground. The facades are also orientated, so they get little direct sunlight.

Meanwhile, several other delegations have said they fully trust that they will not need air conditioning at the Games.
