校车翻倒,15名学生死亡
The death toll in Monday's school bus crash in east China's Jiangsu Province has climbed to 15, with three more students confirmed dead in hospital early today.
At least eight other children are in hospital with injuries.
The bus had 29 primary school students on board when it overturned in Fengxian county of Xuzhou city yesterday afternoon while trying to avoid a pedicab.
Also on Monday, another school bus carrying 59 students was badly hit by a truck in the city of Foshan, Guangdong Province, injuring 37 students.
The accidents occurred only a day after the State Council moved to strengthen school bus safety after a deadly crash killed 19 pupils about a month ago.

俄罗斯第三富人挑战普京
Supporters of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin have been holding a pro-government demonstration in central Moscow.
Demonstrators say they are satisfied with their lives under the leadership of the ruling United Russia party.
"I have clothes, I have shoes. Not like in certain countries where everything's in flames, where there are explosions, where there is violence. There is stability here, I live in Russia and I simply feel wonderful. And who's in power? It's United Russia. They give this to us."
Monday's pro-government demonstrations came following the massive opposition protests around the country over the weekend.

Stable U.S.-Pakistan relationship critical to Afghanistan success: Panetta

由于阿富汗成功,美国巴基斯坦关系严重

b6Aaj6Ix=z!Xhv

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has expressed confidence that the U.S. can mend its strained relationship with Pakistan.
He told reporters that a stable relationship between Washington and Islamabad is critical to the long-term progress in Afghanistan.
The US defense chief also emphasized that the mission of fighting terrorism supports both the U.S.' and Pakistan's interests.
The U.S.-Pakistan ties were strained after the U.S. raid inside Pakistan to kill Al-Qaeda mastermind Osama bin Laden in early May, and further worsened after the NATO air attack on a Pakistan military outpost last month that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers.

泰国警方表示:在湄公河没有出现冲突

oLhWaoz-U8fRsFk(

Authorities in Thailand say no clash has occurred on Mekong River during a four-country joint patrol operation, denying an earlier report by the Thai media.
The report, posted on the website of the Bangkok Post, cited security sources as saying that three Myanmar soldiers were killed in a clash on Sunday with a group of armed people on the river.
China, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar began their coordinated patrols on the violence-troubled Mekong River Saturday following the killing of 13 Chinese sailors on the Thai section of the river in October.

Canadato withdraw from Kyoto Protocol

VI9i&x|Ag2UL-c

加拿大退出京都协议书
Canada says it will formally withdraw from the Kyoto Protocol on climate change.
The Canadian Minister of Environment Peter Kent says the protocol does not represent a way forward for Canada and the country would face crippling fines for failing to meet its targets.
The move, which is legal and was expected, makes Canada the first nation to pull out of the global treaty.
Canada declared four years ago that it did not intend to meet its existing Kyoto Protocol commitments and its annual emissions have risen by about one third since 1990.

China's family firms face succession problem

我国家族企业面临继承问题
Family businesses have been labeled China's economic "invisible engine", but a recent report says their role is threatened by the inability of many to persuade the next generation to take over the reins.
According to the report done by researchers from the mainland and Hong Kong, of some 1,000 surveyed entrepreneurs aged above 50, more than 40 percent expressed hope their kids would take over in the future, while only 35 percent of the younger family members confirmed their willingness to do so.
The report says lack of effective passing-down plans also contributed to the short lives of Chinese family businesses.
