500-million Yahoo! accounts, that’s how many hackers are believed to have swiped personal information from in the biggest digital break-in at an email provider.
It’s bad timing for Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer, she’s trying to close an almost $5 billion sale to Verizon. It’s also potentially bad for Yahoo! email users.
The data stolen includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates, scrambled passwords and those security questions and answers.
The good news? No bank or credit card account info was taken.
