China stands firmly, clearly and consistently against the deployment of the US-made THAAD anti-missile system in South Korea. We once again urged the U.S. and South Korea to respect the safety interests and concerns of China and other countries and regions. We urge them to halt the deployment of the THAAD system and disassemble all related equipment. China has officially registered its disapproval to South Korea.

The THAAD deployment was completed after US forces transported four additional THAAD launchers into new base in Xingzhou county southeast. Some 400 residents gathered to block the transportation of additional facilities. Clashes between police and protesters broke out, resulting in dozens of injuries.
