A joyride in a stolen car has turned to tragedy with the deaths of two teenagers, south east of Melbourne. Another is fighting for her life after the stolen car they were travelling in crashed yesterday afternoon. An 18 year old girl and 16 year old boy died at the scene, a 17 year old girl is in a critical condition. It's alleged the driver of the stolen vehicle tried to flee but was held by a passer-by until police arrived. The 20 year old man is now in hospital under police guard.
The U-S justice department and the FBI will investigate the circumstances of the apparent suicide of the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. The 66 year old was awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges involving underage girls, and was recently taken off suicide watch. The billionaire was found unresponsive in his New York prison cell on Saturday and was pronounced dead at hospital. His death has raised serious questions about how it could happen, and has left his accusers angry he will never face justice.
Two climbers have died in a suspected cliff fall in South Australia's Flinders Ranges. The bodies of the two Adelaide men were found by another climber at the Minaree climbing area at Wilpena pound yesterday afternoon. Emergency services are planning to retrieve of the bodies of the 62 year old and 44 year old from the remote region today. The area is about 450 kilometres north of Adelaide and is popular among climbers because of its challenging near-vertical one-thousand metre cliffs.
