Singapore is preparing "floating hotels" to accommodate hundreds of foreign workers. These vessels typically house marine industry staff. But they are now being used as alternatives to land-based dormitories, which have become a main source of coronavirus infections in the city-state. The government is also looking at using military camps, exhibition centers, and vacant housing blocks. Authorities have started moving some healthy residents from dormitories to such designated sites as a disease-control measure.
