Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga has been elected as the new leader of the country's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, paving his way to succeed Shinzo Abe as the country's next prime minister. Suga won 377 of the 534 valid votes, beating his two main rivals- former Defense Minister Shigeru Ishiba and former Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida.
