While most of its neighbors and most of the world have rallied against the military coup in Niger, two regional nations have lined up on the side of the junta.[qh]

US officials met with the Taliban representatives in Doha, where they denounced the deteriorating human rights situation in Afghanistan, particularly for women and girls.[qh]
