Forest fires in Canada's western province of British Columbia intensified further Saturday, doubling the number of people under an evacuation order from a day earlier as authorities warned of difficult days ahead.[qh]

The California Department of Motor Vehicles asked for the reduction after a Cruise vehicle without a human driver collided with an emergency vehicle on Thursday.[qh]
