The senior nuclear negotiators of North Korea and the United States are meeting in Singapore to discuss the deadlock over Pyangyang's nuclear program.Six-nation talks chaired by China have been suspended since the end of last year. John Sudworth reports.
"This is the second meeting between the United States and North Korea in the space of a month.Now the U.S. envoy,Christopher Hill says time is running out.Last year's nuclear disarmament deal required North Korea to produce a complete list of all its nuclear activities.It says it's done so,but the U.S. wants it to include an alleged secret uranium-enrichment program.South Korea media reports have suggested that North Korea may now be prepared to make further admissions during these latest talks,but other sides suggest North Korea is not in the mood for diplomatic compromise."
Brazil has begun producing condoms using rubber for trees in the Amazon jungle.A new state-run factory in the northwestern state of Acre will make 100,000,000 of the contraceptives of a year.The Brazilian gov't says using locally produced rubber will help preserve (for it is)the largest rain forests in the world.
