Beijing Consumers' Association called on hotels in late April to push back their checkout deadlines from noon to 2 p.m.

The Beijing News published an article saying that these reasons are unacceptable. The paper says hotels should put consumers' interests ahead of their own in the name of service. As more than 90 percent of the public agrees with the new check-out time, hotels should respect the people's choice and provide the more convenient service they are expecting.

The article says that although the old check-out regulation may bring benefits to the hotels, in the long term, consideration will bring greater profits and public trust.
