This is not your father’s Flexible Flyer, this flyer is high tech, capable of high speeds. David Levy calls it Captain Avalanche1. He invented after his old sled fell apart. It is a sharp contrast to the popular wooden models that date back to the 1800s. Made of sturdy2 plastic, this adult friendly sled has specially designed rudders that allow for some furious3 turns. It goes so fast, sledders4 have to use breaks attached to their feet. The sled is scheduled to hit the market in October. Much of its success may depend largely on whether ski resorts will allow them. Hoping this grown up sled will bring out the kid in a whole new generation.
