【用】occur常常和介词to连用构成occur to．意思是“（念头）出现（在某人的脑子里），想到”。

【辨】occur, happen, take place 三者都有“发生”的意思。occur指某事在确定的时间发生，有时表示计划发生的；happen指客观事物在偶然或自然状态下发生；take place指发生事先计划好的事情。

【例】Sedentary habits often interfere with health.

9.cordial adj.热情友好的，热诚的
【记】词根记忆：cord（心脏；一致）+ial（…的）--发自内心的--热诚的
【例】Our meeting with that company was cordial.

【辨】cordial, genial, sociable, cordial多用来形容人真心诚意的、热诚的，如：a cordial smile; genial多用来指人和蔼可亲的；sociable着重强调有社交才能的、爱交际的，如：She is very sociable and loves parties.
