Our journey ended here, but as we sat on the bus home, Hannah pointed out some members of other teenage groups. The boys at the back of the bus playing annoying music on their mobile phones were “hoodies,” named after their hooded sweatshirts. The girl sitting at the front of the bus looked like “an indie kid,” said Hannah, but she couldn’t be sure of it without knowing what she was listening to on her iPod.

The only sure thing I could say would be that any of the teenagers I’d seen would say that this article was complete rubbish and that I didn’t understand anything about teenage fashion. But I’m not supposed to understand—I’m too old!
