64. Look at Peter's Room
64. 检查彼得的房间
It was said that Peter's room was always in a mess. In fact, it was the messiest among the boys' rooms. However, it looked neat and in order whenever we got there.
据说彼得的房间总是很乱，事实上，它是男生宿舍里最糟糕的，然而，我们每次去检查，他的房间看上去整洁有序.
So we decided to use an unexpected way to find out the truth. One day we went to Peter's room with a ladder. Before we knocked on the door, one of us stepped onto the ladder and had a look from the upper window.
于是我们决定使用不寻常的办法查出真相。一天，我们带了一个梯子去彼得的房间。敲门前，一个人爬上梯子从门上的窗户往里看。
What a mess! Peter's things were lying all over the room: on the chair, on the table, under the bed, even on the floor. Peter was sitting on the ground, repairing his tape recorder, while his friend was jumping up and down on his bed.
真乱啊！彼得的东西扔得满屋都是，椅子上、桌子上、床底下、甚至地板上。彼得正坐在地上修理收音机，他的朋友在床上跳来跳去。
As we knocked at the door, Peter cleared up the mess just by putting all the things under his bed. Peter was too ashamed to say a word after we entered his room and brought his trick to light. He promised to keep his room in order as much as possible after that.
听到敲门声，彼得将所有的东西都清理到床底下，我们进屋之后就戳穿了他的伎俩，彼得羞愧得无话可说。他表示今后一定尽可能保持房间整齐。
