Letter three
第三封信
The checkout assistant at my usual supermarket is always rude and unhelpful.
我常去的那家超市的收银员很粗鲁，不予帮助。
A few days ago, I gave her a fifty-pound note to pay for a six-pound purchase,
几天前，我给了她五十英镑，用来支付六英镑的商品。
but she was so busy grumbling that she accidentally gave mean extra ten-pound note in my change.
但是她不停地发牢骚，她找零时不小心多给了我十英镑。
On discovering the error, I went back and tried to tell her. 'Excuse me,' I said.
一发现这个错误，我马上就回去找她，想要告诉她。“对不起，”我说。
However, before I could continue, she barked, 'Can't you see there's a queue? Go to the end and wait your turn.'

That did it! I left the shop with the ￡10 and a clear conscience.

I had meant to correct the error before leaving, but she would not let me. On the other hand...
