译文：从前，有个人一心想学到一种出奇的本领。他听说支离益会宰龙，心想：这可是世上罕见的本领。于是他就去拜支离益做老师。他学呀学，学了整整三年，把家产都折腾光了，才把宰龙的本领学到手。可是本领学到手又有什么用呢？天下根本没有龙，他那绝妙的本领到哪儿去施展呢？“屠龙之技”比喻毫无实际用途的本领。
