"Four years ago, my school found out about my HIV status. Parents forbid their children to interact with me, and the kids insulted me and wouldn't talk to me. Their parents signed a petition to have me expelled from school." This is the story of a 14-year-old girl named Aida. It may sound like the experience of someone growing up decades ago, when fear of HIV and AIDS was at its height. Sadly, however, Aida lived this only recently.

“四年前,学校得知我是艾滋病毒感染者。于是,家长们禁止他们的孩子与我来往,同学们羞辱我,不肯和我说话。他们的家长还签署了一份请愿书,要求把我从学校开除。”这是一个名叫艾达的14岁女孩的故事。这听起来像是几十年前的某个青少年的经历,当时人们对艾滋病毒和艾滋病的恐惧达到顶点。然而,不幸的是,艾达的故事却是最近发生的。

Today, stories like Aida's should be a thing of the past: with access to treatment and care, young people growing up with HIV live long, healthy lives, and build families and relationships just like their peers. Despite this, the over 1.7 million adolescents and young people living with HIV continue to face unacceptable stigma and discrimination in school settings. Too many young people receive inadequate health education. This reinforces fears and misconceptions around HIV and AIDS and fails to provide them with critical knowledge and life-skills.

时至今日,类似的故事理应不再发生:由于可以得到相应治疗与护理,携带艾滋病毒成长起来的年轻人能够像他们的同龄人一样健康长久地生活,组建家庭,建立关系。尽管如此,仍有170多万感染艾滋病毒的青少年继续在校园环境中面临不可接受的污名化和歧视。有太多年轻人没有获得充分的健康教育,由此加剧了人们对艾滋病毒和艾滋病的恐惧和误解,也导致他们自己未能获得关键的知识和生活技能。

The COVID-19 pandemic has laid bare the connections between education, health, and equality. It has also reminded us that accurate information is one of our most powerful public health tools. The education sector has a transformative role to play in promoting the health and well-being of all learners and ending inequalities, stigma and discrimination. That is why UNESCO is proud to announce, on the occasion of World AIDS Day 2021, the launch of an exciting new set of recommendations on meeting the needs of young people living with HIV in the education sector.

COVID-19大流行揭示了教育、健康和平等之间的关系,同时也提醒我们,准确的信息是我们最强大的公共卫生工具之一。教育部门在促进所有学习者的健康和福祉以及终结不平等、污名化和歧视方面应当发挥变革作用。正因如此,在2021年世界艾滋病日之际,教科文组织自豪地宣布推出一系列令人振奋的新建议,以满足教育部门感染艾滋病毒青年的需求。

Developed in close partnership with the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+), and under the leadership of young people living with HIV, the "Positive Learning” recommendations will provide countries with updated guidance on fostering an inclusive, health-promoting school environment free from all forms of violence, stigma and discrimination. So that Aida and young people like her will never again see their right to education trampled by fear and ignorance.

“主动学习”系列建议是与艾滋病毒感染者全球网络(GNP+)密切合作并在感染艾滋病毒青年的领导下制定的,旨在向各国提供最新的指导意见,以打造具有包容性、促进健康且免于一切形式暴力、污名化和歧视的校园环境。这样一来,艾达和像她一样的年轻人的受教育权再也不会被恐惧和无知所践踏。
