【口语积累】
1. 小三 the other woman/man
“小三”英语中可以用“另一个女人/男人”来暗指，还可以说homewrecker，指的是“家庭破坏者”，跟“小三”的含义较为接近。
He left his wife and child and moved in with the other woman.
他抛妻弃子和小三同居了。
There is no happiness for you in being the other woman.
当小三不会幸福的。
I have feelings for you, but I refuse to be the other man.
我对你有感觉，但是我不想当第三者。
Nicole is such a homewrecker. She's the reason my parents got divorced.
妮可真是家庭破坏者，是她导致我父母离婚的。
2. 追求 court
微软小冰似乎是在“追求”人类，“追求”英文可以用court，指的是“求爱”；还可以用pursue，我们经常用pursue one's dream，追求梦想，可以看出这个词更正式，指的是更为严肃的追求。还可以说chase after，这个说法相对更口语，指不那么严肃的追求。“追求者”可以用suitor，还可以用admirer，指“爱慕者”。
She finally married a gentleman who had been courting her for years.
她最后跟追了她许多年的一位绅士结婚了。
He's been pursuing her for months.
这几个月来他一直在追求她。
Mary has been chasing after Joe ever since she developed a crush on him in high school.
自从高中迷上琼，玛丽就一直在追他。

3. PUA gaslighting
PUA原本指的是pick-up artist，“搭讪艺术家”，指利用各种套路去吸引女孩的人。但是我们博大精深的中文中，它的意思有了进一步拓展，可以指“精神控制”。英文中有个专门的词叫做gaslighting（煤气灯效应），指的就是指对受害者施加的情感虐待和操控，让受害者逐渐丧失自尊，产生自我怀疑，无法逃脱。实施PUA的人称为gaslighter。
He was gaslighting his girlfriend, making her doubt her own memories and questioning her sanity.
他在PUA他的女朋友，让她怀疑自己的记忆，质疑自己的神志。
Gaslighting can happen in any type of relationship, including romantic, familial, or professional.
PUA可以发生在任何类型的关系中，包括爱情、亲情或职场中。
The gaslighter manipulated his partner into thinking she was crazy.
这个心理操纵者让他的伴侣认为她疯了。
4. 细思极恐 fridge horror
fridge horror指的是看完电影，回到家，打开冰箱的时候突然意识到刚才看的电影其实很恐怖，这里的恐怖一定是“事后的”（after the fact），要经过细想（second thought）的。还有个短语叫做give sb the creeps，可以译作“毛骨悚然”，非常形象地表达出“使心里发毛”的那种恐惧。
The fridge horror hit me when I realized the knock on the door was coming from the inside of the refrigerator.
当我意识到敲门声是从冰箱里发出来时，感到细思极恐。
It's too late to apologize after the fact, you should have thought about it earlier.
事后道歉已经太迟了，你应该早点想到。
