1【Sihanouk dies in Beijing】西哈努克在京逝世
TEXT:The former king of Cambodia, Norodom Sihanouk, died Monday at a hospital in China. Sihanouk was a pre-eminent figure in Cambodia's history through a large part of the 20th century. He held considerable power in the 1950s and 60s when, as a young, flamboyant ruler he came to symbolise Cambodia's liberation from French rule. Sihanouk however will also be remembered as a puppet kept by the Khmer Rouge during their 1970s reign of terror that killed almost a quarter of the Cambodian population. In 1991 Sihanouk oversaw an historic peace agreement signed by the country's warring factions and Vietnam - which had invaded Cambodia to topple the Khmer Rouge. Flags at the Cambodian Embassy in Beijing were flown at half staff in his honour. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Sihanouk's son King Norodom Sihamony will accompany the body as it is returned to Cambodia for a state funeral at the Royal Palace. Sihanouk was 89 years old.

2【Diplomats safety my responsibility-Clinton】克林顿:外交官的安全是我的责任
TEXT:With all eyes on President Obama ahead of Tuesday's second presidential debate... U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appears to be lending a hand on the issue of diplomatic security. During a trip to Peru Clinton said it was her responsibility to keep diplomats safe whilst abroad--a reference to the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya last month. U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON SAYING: "...to try to make sure that we intervene with governments, we did everything we could to keep our people safe which is my primary responsibility." The details surrounding the attack in which U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans died have been scant. A few White House blunders over the handling of the incident--first attributing the attack to violence over an anti-Islam film-- then suffering through critical congressional testimony about a lack of security-- has given Republicans a free talking point during this election season. And they've hit the issue hard.REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE MITT ROMNEY SAYING : "He's doubling down on denial and we need to understand exactly what happened as opposed to have people brush this aside." But in shouldering the blame, Clinton is taking one for the team. And scolding Republicans not to turn it into a political gotcha. U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON SAYING: "I don't we want to get into any blame game. I really believe that tragedies like what happened in Benghazi should be viewed in a non-political way everybody should pull together as Americans."

3【Pakistani schoolgirl flown to UK hospital】巴基斯坦女学生转运飞赴英国医院
TEXT:The Pakistani schoolgirl shot by the Taliban left her hospital on Monday, and was loaded onto a special air ambulance headed for the United Kingdom. Malala Yousufzai, a 14-year-old activist for girls education, was admitted to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The unit that will treat Malala specializes in complex trauma cases, and has a history of caring for hundreds of soldiers wounded in Afghanistan. Pakistani surgeons removed a bullet from near Malala's spinal cord the day after the attack but she reportedly needs more intensive followup care. Just how much damage Malala has suffered is unclear. What is clear is that Malala will continue to be a target for Pakistan's Taliban. The group has said that if she makes a full recovery, they will attack her again.
