Typhoon survivors struggle to rebuild
台风幸存者艰难开始重建工作

Z&YDED~YalIn6|z

Two weeks after super typhoon Haiyan tore through parts of the Philippines, residents like Arturo Movilla are trying to rebuild their lives. He lost everything... his home, his business, and most importantly, four members of his family. With scraps of corrugated roof and drift wood, Movilla says it's every man for himself.

For others, the massive and far reaching devastation is reminiscent of a past era. It's as if we got hurled back to the days of MacArthur, this man said. We have to start from scratch. Besides a roof over their head, typhoon survivors still need food, water and other supplies. Although more aid is flowing into the region, officials say graft and corruption issues complicate distribution. With cleanup and rebuilding far from over, survivors continue to struggle with daily existence. The death toll across the Philippines is now over 4,000 people.

Indonesians protest outside Australian embassy over spying
印尼人在澳大使馆外抗议监控

*-orB9IgFUs=E4Opy%3,

Demonstrations flared in Jakarta Friday in front of the Australian embassy as relations between the two countries continue to sour over spying allegations. Protesters held signs and burned Australian flags and pictures of Prime Minister Tony Abbott. The media reports that set off the Indonesian outrage quoted documents leaked by former U.S. National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden, suggesting Australia had tried to monitor the phones of top Indonesian officials in 2009. Indonesia said it is reviewing its relations with Australia. Earlier this week, the Indonesian ambassador was recalled from Canberra. Australia's prime minister has not confirmed the spying nor apologised, but he has expressed regret for the embarrassment the media reports caused to Yudhoyono and his family.
