Controversial bill in hands of Arizona governor
亚利桑那州法案涉嫌歧视同性恋

GxPsNLj]eJ[#i0~3

Thousands turned out to march around the Arizona Capitol Monday to protest a state bill critics say is anti-gay. Governor Jan Brewer, a conservative Republican, has until the end of the week to sign or veto the measure. If passed, the bill would allow business owners to refuse service to gays based on their religious beliefs. Supporters say the bill protects religious freedom. Opponents argue it will lead to discrimination. The measure is drawing widespread criticism after it was passed by the state legislature this week. Three Republican state senators who initially voted for the bill are now calling on the governor to veto it. They say it was mistakenly approved in haste, and has already caused enough damage to Arizona's reputation.
