WWII enthusiasts re-enact camps in Normandy

They come to remember the past. Ahead of the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landing enthusiasts have made their way to Normandy to set up camp and show how soldiers lived during the war. With the youngest survivors of the June 6 landings on the French coastline now in their late 80s, ceremonies recalling the largest sea-borne invasion in history have a special importance for Nicolas Daubresse.

Obama to urge Congress on boosting support for NATO allies

President Barack Obama arrived in Poland on Tuesday with a clear mission: reassure eastern European allies of his commitment to the region. On the first of a four-day European trip, Obama promised continued support in the face of Russia's actions in Ukraine.

Poland and some of its NATO neighbors have been seeking troops on the ground in light of the Ukraine crisis. However, a big increase in U.S. forces could prompt Moscow to take similar actions. At a later news conference, Obama announced plans for supporting and training armed forces in the region.

California manhunt ends with arrest

A nationwide manhunt ended on Monday for a man the FBI described as "armed and dangerous". Police have arrested 42-year-old Ryan Kelly Chamberlain, after federal authorities had found explosive materials in his apartment this past weekend. The FBI took him into custody in San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge area. Morgan Manos filmed the take-down with his iPhone: "They got him onto the ground, they were trying to get him cuffed. They were yelling at him to get one of his arms around behind his back. He was complaining that he couldn't, that he was like hurt or stiff or something. Apparently they finally got it around and got him cuffed... so he looked basically right at me as I was filming him and yelled 'help'." The San Francisco Chronicle reported that he sent out a timed suicide note via social media earlier that day. In it, he wrote about his depression, romantic heartbreak and the loss of his job. Political consultant Alex Clemens, knows Chamberlain and briefly employed him.
