"It has happened," she told the silent staffroom. "A student has been taken by the monster. Right into the Chamber itself."
“又出事了，”她对着房间里沉默不语的老师们说，“一个学生被怪兽掳走了。直接带进了密室。”
Professor Flitwick let out a squeal. Professor Sprout clapped her hands over her mouth. Snape gripped the back of a chair very hard and said, "How can you be sure?"
弗立维教授发出一声尖叫。斯普劳特教授猛地用双手捂住嘴巴。斯内普紧紧地抓住一把椅子的椅背，问道：“你怎么能肯定？”
"The Heir of Slytherin," said Professor McGonagall, who was very white, "left another message. Right underneath the first one. 'Her skeleton will lie in the Chamber forever.' "
“斯莱特林的继承人，”脸色十分苍白的麦格教授说，“又留下了一行字。就在上次那段文字的下面，写着：她的尸骨将永远留在密室。”
Professor Flitwick burst into tears.
弗立维教授忍不住哭了出来。
"Who is it?" said Madam Hooch, who had sunk, weak-kneed, into a chair. "Which student?"
“是谁？”霍琦夫人双膝一软，瘫坐在一把椅子里。“是哪个学生？”
"Ginny Weasley," said Professor McGonagall.
“金妮韦斯莱。”麦格教授说。
Harry felt Ron slide silently down onto the wardrobe floor beside him.
哈利感到罗恩在他身边无声地跌倒在衣柜的地板上。
"We shall have to send all the students home tomorrow," said Professor McGonagall. "This is the end of Hogwarts. Dumbledore always said... "
“我们必须明天就把所有的学生都打发回家，”麦格教授说，“霍格沃茨到此为止了。邓布利多以前常说……”
The staffroom door banged open again. For one wild moment, Harry was sure it would be Dumbledore. But it was Lockhart, and he was beaming.
教工休息室的门又一次被重重撞开了。哈利一时突发奇想，以为肯定是邓布利多回来了。结果却是洛哈特，脸上居然还笑嘻嘻的。
"So sorry — dozed off — what have I missed?"
“对不起——打了个盹儿——我错过了什么？”
He didn't seem to notice that the other teachers were looking at him with something remarkably like hatred. Snape stepped forward.
他似乎没有注意到，其他老师都以一种可以说是仇恨的目光盯着他。斯内普向前跨了一步。
