BEIJING — China's Ministry of Education has pledged to work with local authorities to step up the prevention of sexual harassment in universities and colleges, according to a statement on its site.

北京消息：据中国教育部在官网发表的声明，教育部承诺将会同地方教育主管部门加强防范高校的性骚扰事件。

【讲解】

sexual harassment是性骚扰。
这一声明是对十三届全国人大二次会议第8950号建议的答复，第8950号建议指“关于关注内地高校（higher education institutions）性骚扰事件，校内成立防止性骚扰（curb sexual harassment）委员会的建议”。
教育部在《答复》中提出，教育部去年印发的两份指导意见明确要求，教师不得与学生发生任何不正当关系，严禁（strictly prohibited）任何形式的猥亵、性骚扰行为（any form of indecency or sexual harassment）。
《答复》指出，各高校（universities and colleges）普遍设立了师德建设（cultivate teachers' ethics）的领导机制和师德建设委员会的工作机制，把预防和处理性骚扰（prevent and tackle sexual harassment）作为重要工作内容（important duty）。
